A quick look back at the last few months at bimstore

…maybe. Okay, it’s not feeling entirely summery here today but we’re keeping the faith!

Yes, rather scarily we’re managed to find ourselves in July already so of course that means it’s time for the next bimstore brief – our quick look back at the last quarter at bimstore.

Over the past few months we’ve introduced you to a bevy of new manufactuers on bimstore including;

CrosswaterH+H UK Ltd Impey ShowersInterface UKMerlyn ShoweringPolypipe VentilationSIG Design & TechnologySottini

In addition, our content team were kept even busier as we also had some nice BIM content updates go live for some of our existing manufacturers such as Hambleside Danelaw, Big Foot Systems and Hamworthy Heating.

Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know that April kicked off with the biggest date on the BIM calendar yet – UK BIM mandate day. The build up to this date had been brewing over the past few years and in a new blog post, our CEO Rob Charlton looked back at the journey to Level 2 BIM and took a look to the future, and as we approached the deadline our Technical Director Kris Atkinson spoke to Hamworthy Heatingon the issues surrounding BIM for the latest release of their Boiling Point magazine. We also took the opportunity to tell you a little bit more about the manufacturer-specific BIM content we create and host here at bimstore and we continue to be big advocates for this.

In May we headed down to Clerkenwell Design Week 2016 where a host of manufacturers were displaying the very best of their wares. We did a couple of presentations with two of our bimstore manufacturers, Ideal Standard and Flexiform – the latter also providing some welcome refreshments in the form of a pie and a pint!

June saw us publishing the first of our series of manufacturer case studies – the first one being Flexiform Business Furniture. These case studies talk about the manufacturers decision to adopt BIM, what steps they took, any benefits they have realised so far and of course, why they decided to work with bimstore! (Hint: Because we've got an awesome team obviously!) We’ve got new case studies coming every month so watch this space! It was also the month Technical Director Kris was interviewed by BIMIreland for their 'BIM People' section and Rob Charlton talked about the move from the Internet of Things to the Internet of Everything.

As if that’s not enough, we also let you know of all the places you can track bimstore down on the internet – we’re everywhere, so make sure you are following us on your favourite social media channel!

The next few months at bimstore look to be busy ones, especially as we’ll be gearing up for the final quarter of the year – events season! For more information on our manufacturers and regular updates from the bimstore team make sure you keep an eye on our news feed.
