We’re less than two weeks away from BIM Show Live for Manufacturers – have you secured your place yet? Join us on Thursday 11th June 2015 to find out why BIM is an important topic for product manufacturers, what data should be incorporated within the BIM objects and how BIM can be used to your advantage.

Today we’re excited to announce we have a new speaker confirmed for the event. Jan Shepherd, Global Brand Director at GROHE will be joining us at The Building Centre in London during the Manufacturer & Assemble section of the programme.

GROHE is the leading provider of premium bath fittings and showers, kitchen taps, thermostats and sanitary systems. Renowned for its quality, technological innovation and stylish design, GROHE continues to set the standard and is committed to being at the forefront of change in the construction sector. As part of this commitment, GROHE provide a large selection of BIM data for high-quality sanitary products to support planners and architects.

BIM Show Live for Manufacturers, exclusively tailored for product manufacturers, is the ideal forum for manufacturers who are yet to adopt BIM to gain a better understanding and discover how it can give competitive advantage, however the event is also relevant for manufacturers already using BIM who would like to know more about using it to its full potential. The programme for #BSL4M will follow the 4 stages of BIM; Stage 1 Define & Validate, Stage 2 Design & Prototype, Stage 3 Manufacture & Assemble, Stage 4 Operate and Maintain.

The Government Construction Strategy states that all centrally-funded public sector work will require fully collaborative 3D BIM as a minimum by April 2016. The recent survey conducted by the BIM4M2 working group demonstrated that NOW is the optimum time for product manufacturers to start their BIM journey, with 40% of manufacturers stating they are ready for April 2016 and 50% reporting that they intend to be.

The team from bimstore will be on hand to answer any specific queries that manufacturers might have about content creation and hosting. Developed by specifiers for specifiers, bimstore was the first BIM object library to hit the web in the UK. Earlier this year bimstore was confirmed as the favoured partner for BIM content creation and distribution in BIM4M2 report.
