Find out more about GDPR, what to do and how it will benefit you!

Life is digital, we share, share and then share some more, whether that’s on social media, buying something online or even downloading a BIM component. But every time we share, we need to make sure that every company stores and uses our data in an ethical and positive way. That is where the GDPR comes into play.

GDPR is the biggest change to UK Data privacy law to occur for 20 years and is designed to harmonise data privacy across Europe, protecting personal information for people and reshaping the way organisations approach data privacy.

The new regulations have been put in place to protect the personal details you share and allow YOU to take control of how it is used.

At bimstore we take data protection VERY seriously, because of this we are working to make sure we have everything in line WAY ahead of the May deadline. If you're wondering how this will benefit you, here's 4 ways in which GDPR will impact everyone:

You’re in control:

Supporting your right to privacy of personal information and access to this information to which organisations hold about you. GDPR has been designed to empower the public to check or change any information held and to give you confidence that the information they do hold is accurate.

You’re Protected:

The new rules make sure that all organisations are set up to protect any personal data they hold, rest assured you're personal details are in safe hands!

You can alter your choice:

You must be provided with the opportunity to change your mind about the choice you make by every organisation. This provides you with the choice to change your options and opt out of sharing your information at any time.

You choose who contacts you:

Consent to contact you is now under your control, as you decide which form of communication you are contacted via. This means organisations must ask for permission when contacting you with offers or information. Expect to be prompted soon as to how you would like to receive updates following GDPR coming into play.

OurPrivacy Policy tells you how we will use, store and collect any data about you, how you use our website and generally how you engage with us.

You can now update your preferences in your Account Settings, and if you change your mind later then don’t worry, there will always be an option to unsubscribe, the power is in your hands.
