Lloyd Worrall Group (LWG) are a premier architectural solutions provider to the commercial, education, health, housing retail and leisure sectors of the construction industry. LWG supply and specify architectural ironmongery, high performance commercial doorsets, access control systems, door automation systems and modular handrail and balustrade solutions.

Since 1946, LWG has been supplying the building industry with its architectural hardware requirements. Their success has been founded on a philosophy of competitively priced, high quality products which is backed by a level of service and management which is second to none.

LWG adopted BIM in 2014, following the launch of their Interspec Doorset range, which is available to download on bimstore. Speaking about the beginning of LWG’s BIM journey, Claire Spooner, Marketing Manager at LWG said:

“The importance of being a BIM-ready partner became evident to us in 2014 following numerous requests from customers. We wanted to develop intelligent BIM components where the specifier could select the ironmongery set together with the door.”

The latest developments for LWG’s Anti-ligature Doorset components have recently been completed and are now available to download on bimstore!

The addition of the Mental Health Doorsets to LWG’s extensive portfolio of BIM components have been designed in response to the growing requirement for specialist products. With a strong focus on the safety, security and dignity of people, the objects are ideally suited for use in care homes, prisons, mental healthcare institutions and psychiatric hospitals.

Here’s what Claire had to say about the completion of their new BIM components:

“We’ve been working with bimstore for 3 years and have just completed Phase 2 of our doorset and ironmongery BIM components with them.

Our new Phase 2 components have been specifically developed for the mental health environment and comprise 7 Revit door components containing 36 pre-configured sizes/types and anti-ligature ironmongery sets.

The aim of these new components is to provide BIM objects that will allow a specifier to select with confidence the correct doorset with anti-ligature furniture for the appropriate room.”

Speaking about LWG’s experience of working with bimstore, Claire went on to say:

“bimstore understood our requirements from the start and we were very pleased with their proactive approach to developing our objects. The fact that they are part of The Space Group gave us confidence that they knew how the objects would be used in the real world. They are always available to help, discuss ideas and provide support.”

Lloyd Worrall Group have chosen anti-ligature products for their Mental Health Doorsets range which provide increased levels of personal freedom and quality of life, while at the same time minimising the potential for self-harm.
