A quick recap of the first quarter of 2016 at bimstore!

So far 2016 has certainly been a rather busy one for the bimstore team with absolutely no signs of slowing down! We've seen the arrival of not one, not two but SIXTEEN new manufacturers landing in the first quarter of the year meaning that you can now find a wonderful array of BIM objects for the following leading manufacturers;

American Specialties Armitage Shanks Ash and Lacy Forterra Building Products Ideal Standard Jetfloor from Forterra KE Fibretec UK Ltd Marley Plumbing and Drainage Manthorpe Building Products Quinn Building Products Recoup Energy Solutions RENOLIT Waterproofing Rinnai UK Superglass Insulation Ltd Swish Building Products URSA

Phew that really is quite a list! Elsewhere some of our existing manufacturers received an update to their content – namely BOSCH, Icopal, Breathing Buildings, Legrand, Hamworthy Heating and ACV.

Not content with all these new BIM objects we even managed to knock out a couple of bimvids for Legrand and Jaga Heating which you can see over on the bimstore YouTube Channel. bimvids are a one stop shop for showcasing BIM content to the masses! Our team illustrate how to get the most from BIM components.

Another couple of things of note in the first few months of the year –

Firstly our sponsorship of Wienerberger’s Tim Clark participated in GameBlast16 which resulted in the creation of the bimstore Bentley in our signature yellow, lovingly adorned with our dear friend Ermintrude. Alas, much to the chagrin of our Partnership Manager Gillian, the Bentley is not to be her next company car but a virtual car designed to be raced on the Xbox One!

There were a couple of changes within the bimstore team this quarter with Kris Atkinson receiving a very well-deserved promotion to Technical Director and we have also been joined by two Campus graduates, Elisabeth and Peter.

Adam Ward presented at ThinkBIM's Twilight Seminar in March - which we hear was their most attended event yet. We're sure that's just a strange coincidence and nothing to do with Adam at all, though his live demo's are widely famed... Check out the Storify from the event here.

Finally, the shortlist nominations were released for the H&V News Awards 2016back in January and it was very pleasing to see a number of bimstore manufacturers are in the running. The awards are due to be held on 21st April 2016 so good luck to BOSCH, Myson, Fabricated Products and KE Fibretec UK. We can’t wait to hear the results!
