bimstore brief – The one where it’s not summer anymore…

Posted 10th October 2016 by BimStore

…sadly, all too quickly summer has departed.

Yes, our last bimstore brief was in back July 2016 when we were just about dusting off the BBQ and here we are now, searching for the winter woollies.  Still, we march on, creating and hosting some of the highest-quality BIM objects for some of the best manufacturers out there, and today in our bimstore brief for Q3 we wanted to tell you a little bit more about what we've been up to over the past few months.

As always, we’ve introduced you to a bunch of great new manufacturers on bimstore including;

Hush Acoustics
OSO Hotwater
Recticel Insulation
Thermal Economics

In addition, we also had some nice additions and updates for some of our existing manufacturers BIM libraries such as Purmo, Crane Fluid Systems, Myson, Hattersely, Altecnic, Marshall-Tufflex, Reliance Water Controls and Renolit.

Behind the scenes, we have been working on case studies with our manufacturers and have started sharing these on a monthly basis. Currently available are Hamworthy HeatingAll About Bricks and Fabricated Products.   Take a look at these case studies and testimonials to see how we have helped manufacturers, both big and small; get ready for BIM - with the highest quality BIM objects out there!

What else has been happing at bimstore?

In July bimstore headed over to a very toasty Arizona for RTC North America. Sean who attended for bimstore alongside our US partners did a post-event write-up on his return.

Space Group CEO Rob Charlton shared his thoughts on marketing back in July and followed this up with a two-part article on marketing to specifiers, Part 1 and Part 2 are available for your viewing pleasure!  Rob also shared some post-Brexit thoughts and talked emerging cultures.

August 2016 saw the release of Version 14 of the bimstore bible.  Our bimstore bible is ever-evolving, moving swiftly with the times and industry as it changes. Version 14 incorporated several significant changes and alongside this, we also released our shared parameter file which is available to download on the bimstore website.

In September we launched BIMworld, our new biannual magazine – available in both print and PDF download. If you haven’t seen it yet, make sure you download your copy. Issue 2 will be available in January 2017.

And finally, last but certainly not least, everyone’s favourite BIM event is making a return in 2017….yes BIM Show Live is back! In September we gave you the lowdown on the where, the when and the why. BIM Show Live is going back to its roots!

We’re now heading into events season – always a busy time and the next few months will see us popping up at several events including the Building Content Summit and RTC Europe, Speedy Expo, CIBSE Building Performance Conference, Autodesk University in Las Vegas…
