A look back at last week’s successful event in London

Last week saw the bimstore team decamping to the fabulous Building Centre in London for the day for the return of BIM Show Live for Manufacturers.

BSL4M, a spin-off from its big sister BIM Show Live, was a one-day affair held in association with bimstore. Tailored exclusively for building products manufacturers, it was the ideal forum for those manufacturers who are just starting out on their BIM journey to find out more about BIM adoption and how they can gain competitive advantage.

Presentations followed the BIM Show Live format of Define & Validate, Design & Prototype, Manufacture & Assemble and Operate & Maintain. Speakers at the event included Rob Charlton, CEO of Space Group who believes the construction industy needs to 'Rethink' the process , Technical Director of BIM.Technologies Adam Ward who took the brave decision to do a daring live demo and Jan Shepherd, Global Brand Director of GROHE, leading provider of premium sanitary fittings and systems. Jan’s presentation, demonstrating the route GROHE took to BIM adoption, covered important points including their drivers for BIM, how they decided on a partner for content creation and hosting and what benefits they have seen so far. It was great to hear a manufacturer’s perspective of BIM adoption.

Finally, a big thank you to our event sponsor, Autodesk reseller Graitec Ltd. They have extensive experience in not only the supply of Autodesk software packages but also in the ongoing implementation and roll out of Autodesk and bespoke business solutions and hardware/networking infrastructures. Graitec specialise in both the AEC and manufacturing sector and are able to adopt a holistic approach across the varying AEC industry disciplines as well as the manufacturing for the construction industry supply chain which is a critical element of successful BIM adoption.

As you might have already noticed, we’re a pretty friendly bunch here at bimstore, so if you’d like to know more about BIM content creation and hosting, just get in touch - we’re happy to help!
