Take a look at our case studies to see how we help manufacturers get ready for BIM!

GROHE is the world’s number one manufacturer of premium sanitary fittings. Their products combine award-winning design with the most sophisticated technologies and the highest-quality materials. GROHE’s clients include some of the world’s top architects and interior designers and their products can be found in some of the most iconic buildings around the world.

Driven by the UK Government’s Construction Strategy and similar initiatives around the world, GROHE seized the opportunity to be an early adopter of BIM within Europe. Global Brand Director Jan Shepherd spent 6 months researching BIM before approaching vendors to create a sample object to be tested by architects. Thanks to their significant investment in both time and money, GROHE were the first BIM-ready European bathroom manufacturer.

“A review of quality vs value for money lead us to create a partnership with bimstore“ Jan Shepherd, Global Brand Director

When it came to choosing a partner to create and host their BIM content, it was a combination of the feedback they received from their architect’s partners and a review of quality versus value for money that ultimately lead to a partnership with bimstore. One thing that was important to GROHE was the ability to act quickly, be reliable and have a great track record.

With over 8,000 core products to choose from, GROHE needed to carefully select which products to model. They started with the top 100 products most popular with architects, taking into account regional variations. Over the last two years, this number has more than doubled as architects request specific models to fit in with projects they are working on.

“We appreciate that bimstore not only supply us with models but also give us updates of how the landscape is changing and how this might impact or improve our business”. Jan Shepherd, Global Brand Director

GROHE have received great feedback from their clients on the quality of their BIM content and have found that there are several benefits to having implemented BIM within the company. One significant benefit has been the ability to track specifications and make an estimation of pipeline created from the model which has resulted in an excellent return on investment.
